First assessment 

The first assessment of the parties against the six tests was completed and launched September 2007. How green are our parties? The Green Standard report and the press release can be downloaded below. As well as reading our verdicts it was possible to take action by writing to party leaders, urging them to follow up and act on the assessment's conclusions. The letters to the party leaders have now been updated in line with the conclusions of Fit for the Future? The 2007-08 Green Standard Review of the Parties.

The assessment focused on the existing commitments of each party, their actions and policy commitments, rather than their aspirations and speeches. We also took into account each party's overall approach and consistency, as well as the extent to which we are confident of their ability and commitment to deliver on proposed policies.
